Detailed Job Description:

Job Descriptions and Responsibilities of Chief Executive Officer:
The Chief Executive Officer of GTU Ventures will be the overall head of the initiative and shall
provide strategic and operational leadership across all programs and entities currently under its
umbrella, which include:


1. Technology Business Incubator (TBI) at GISC
2. Atal Incubation Centre (AIC) under AIC-GISC Foundation
3. AICTE-supported Idea Lab
4. Ministry of Education–supported Design Innovation Centre
5. MSME Incubator under AIC-GISC Foundation
6. IPR Cell and related initiatives

The CEO will work under the guidance of the Board of Directors of GISC and AIC-GISC Foundation,
and in close coordination with the University leadership. Key responsibilities include:
1. Provide strategic direction and leadership to all incubation and innovation initiatives under
GTU Ventures.
2. Design, build, and scale incubation programs, accelerator programs, and outreach activities.
3. Strengthen national and international collaborations to bring global best practices to GTU
Ventures.
4. Support early-stage startups in transitioning to growth-stage enterprises.
5. Drive financial sustainability of GTU Ventures and its constituent programs.
6. Forge partnerships with academia, industry, ecosystem stakeholders, funds, and government
agencies to benefit startups.
7. Conceptualize and lead events, bootcamps, and public outreach initiatives to attract
incubatees and build visibility.
8. Mentor and guide startups in building sustainable, scalable, and profitable business models.
9. Develop structured training, mentorship, and networking opportunities for entrepreneurs.

10. Maintain and expand the repository of technologies, facilities, and expert mentors available
within GTU Ventures.
11. Ensure compliance with administrative, financial, and reporting requirements of supporting
ministries, agencies, and funding bodies.
12. Facilitate access to prototyping facilities, testbeds, pilot projects, and market linkages for
incubated startups.
13. Recruit, manage, and develop a high-performing team capable of delivering on the mission
of GTU Ventures.
14. Build strong systems for monitoring, evaluation, and impact assessment of GTU Ventures’
activities


Qualification, Experience & Eligibility Criteria:

Educational Qualification:
● A Master’s degree from a recognised university is required.
● Preference will be given to candidates holding an MBA or equivalent management
qualification or Professional degree.



Experience:
1. Minimum 10 years of overall professional experience.
2. At least 7 years of relevant experience in the startup ecosystem, including roles in incubators,
accelerators, venture or angel funds, ecosystem-enabling organisations, or as a cofounder/core team member of a DPIIT-recognised startup.
3. Preference will be given to candidates with prior leadership or senior management roles in
startup incubators or ecosystem enablers.



Skills and Competences:
1. Strong understanding of the startup ecosystem, incubator operations, technology incubation,
fundraising, and venture financing.
2. Ability to conceptualise and implement business plans, fundraising proposals, and pitch
presentations.
3. Excellent professional communication skills, with strong command of English and proficiency
in Hindi; knowledge of Gujarati will be considered an asset.
4. Proficiency in using digital productivity and collaboration tools such as Google Workspace,
Office 365, Slack, Trello, etc.
5. Familiarity with AI tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity, along with the ability and
ease to adopt and integrate emerging technologies into workflows, will be an advantage.
6. Candidates with relevant professional certifications in entrepreneurship, venture funding, or
technology management will be preferred.

Selection process and terms:
1. A shortlist of applicants will be prepared by the competent authority based on the
applications received.
2. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a personal interview by a high-level empowered
selection committee.
3. The selection committee will assess candidates on professional expertise, leadership
potential, strategic vision, and alignment with GTU Ventures’ objectives.
4. A merit list will be created based on the interviews, and the appointment will be offered
according to the order of precedence in the merit list.
5. The decision of the competent authority of GTU Ventures and its parent bodies will be final
in all matters concerning the selection and appointment process.

1. This appointment is purely on a contractual basis and does not constitute employment in a
government organization.
2. The role is outcome-driven and designed for high-impact leadership; it does not carry any
entitlement for permanent employment.
3. The tenure, remuneration, and terms of appointment are subject to the discretion of the
