Role Overview: Head of Data Science Squad

Flutter is seeking a dynamic, experienced data science leader to head its Data Science Squad in Hyderabad. This role is ideal for someone with:

• Deep expertise in ML/AI

• Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills

• Proven experience in delivering real-world machine learning solutions at scale

You will lead end-to-end development of predictive models across Flutter’s global portfolio, influencing product, marketing, operations, and business strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, inspire, and manage a cross-functional Data Science Squad delivering ML solutions across global brands.

• Define long-term strategy and roadmap aligned with Flutter’s business priorities.

• Partner with stakeholders to identify AI/ML opportunities and build a strong project pipeline.

• Oversee the full model lifecycle: exploration, feature engineering, model development, validation, deployment, and monitoring.

• Collaborate closely with Product, Technology, Engineering, and Business teams.

• Represent the Data Science squad in executive forums, influencing governance and prioritization decisions.

• Foster a culture of storytelling, impactful delivery, experimentation, and continuous improvement.

• Mentor and grow team members across technical and leadership dimensions.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• 10+ years of experience in Data Science, ML, predictive modeling, and stakeholder delivery.

• Hands-on experience with B2C models such as:

  • Customer segmentation

  • Recommendation systems

  • Marketing attribution

  • Churn prediction

  • Personalization systems

• Strong understanding of ML techniques and their practical applications.

• Proficiency with:
  Languages: Python (preferred), SQL
  Libraries: scikit-learn, XGBoost, LightGBM, pandas, NumPy, PySpark
  Frameworks/Tools: Weights & Biases, A/B testing frameworks
  Platforms: Databricks, AWS (S3, SageMaker), GCP (BigQuery, Vertex AI)
  Visualization: Tableau, PowerBI

• Understanding of data engineering principles and experience working with large-scale (structured & unstructured) datasets.

• Excellent communication and storytelling skills to align and influence global stakeholders.

• Experience in product-led organizations or consumer technology companies is strongly preferred.
