The Sri Sri Centre for Translation and Interpreting Studies was established on 22 February 2021 by Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar to promote translation and interpreting studies in India in accordance with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

The centre operates under Sri Sri University, a state private university established by the Sri Sri University Act, 2009 by the Odisha State Legislative Assembly. The university began its academic activities in 2012 and has emerged as a leading centre for quality education that blends the “Best of East and West.”

Sri Sri University currently hosts around 2000 students from 28 Indian states and 7 countries, offering 43 academic programs across nine streams. The institution focuses on the values of Learn, Lead, and Serve and aims to develop academic excellence along with strong moral values. Research Position

ICSSR Research Assistant

Project Title

Documenting Rūpa Tārakasi: Oral History of the Silver Filigree Artisans from Cuttack, Odisha – The Silver City of India

Essential Qualifications

Candidates should have:

Ph.D / M.Phil / Postgraduate Degree in a subject relevant to the research area
OR
Postgraduate degree in Humanities / Social Science disciplines
Minimum 55% marks

Desirable Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates with:

Experience related to Rūpa Tārakasi (Silver Filigree craft)
Knowledge about Odisha, especially Cuttack
Good communication skills in Odia and English
Knowledge of SPSS / STATA and data archiving

Project Duration

7 Months

Stipend

Rs. 37,000 per month
