About the Institution

Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology Surat was established in 1961 as Sardar Vallabhbhai Regional College of Engineering & Technology (SVRCET). In 2002, it was upgraded to a National Institute of Technology and granted the status of Deemed University.

With the implementation of the National Institutes of Technology Act 2007, the institute was recognized as an Institution of National Importance from 15 August 2007.

The institute currently offers B.Tech, M.Tech, Integrated M.Sc, Integrated B.Tech-M.Tech, MBA, and Doctoral programs across multiple disciplines.

Essential Qualification

• B.E / B.Tech (First Division) in:

  • Civil Engineering

  • Mechanical Engineering

• M.E / M.Tech in:

  • Structural Engineering

  • Structural Dynamics Engineering

  • Earthquake Engineering

Desirable:

• Qualified GATE / NET

Fellowship

• ₹37,000 per month (First & Second Year)

• ₹42,000 per month for Senior Research Fellow (Third Year)

• HRA as per SERB rules
