Tamilnadu College of Engineering was sponsored by the Tamilnadu Technical Education Foundation (Regd.) and established in the year 1984. The institution is guided by eminent educationist Dr. P. V. Ravi (Ph.D.). The college is recognized by the Government of Tamil Nadu, approved by AICTE, New Delhi, and affiliated with Anna University.

The college offers 9 undergraduate programs and 3 postgraduate programs. Six undergraduate programs have received permanent affiliation from Anna University. The institution is also NAAC accredited with ‘A’ grade for five years and focuses on the overall development of students.
