Tamilnadu College of Engineering (TCE) was established in 1984 under the sponsorship of the Tamilnadu Technical Education Foundation (Regd.). The institution was founded by eminent philanthropists Lion T.N. Palanisame B.A., MJF (Late) and Dr. P.V. Ravi, Ph.D., visionary educators with a strong belief that the continuous pursuit of knowledge is the sole path to success.

The college is recognized by the Government of Tamil Nadu, approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi, and affiliated with Anna University.

TCE offers 8 undergraduate and 3 postgraduate programs, with six undergraduate programs receiving permanent affiliation from Anna University. Several programs including B.E. (Computer Science Engineering), B.E. (Mechanical Engineering), B.E. (Civil Engineering), B.E. (Electronics and Communication Engineering), and B.Tech (Artificial Intelligence and Data Science) are accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA), AICTE, New Delhi for a period of three years.

Beyond academics, the college promotes holistic student development through active clubs such as IO Tech Club, Hands to Others (H2O) Club, Rotary Club, Tamil Mandram, Red Ribbon Club, and NSS, fostering intellectual growth and social responsibility among students.
