Himachal Pradesh attained statehood on 25 January 1971. Before that, the functions of the Public Service Commission for the Union Territory of Himachal Pradesh were handled by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) under Article 315 of the Constitution of India.

Later, the Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission was established to conduct recruitment and examinations for various government posts in the state.

Qualification

• NET/SET is the minimum eligibility for Assistant Professor recruitment.

• Candidates with Ph.D. Degree (as per UGC Regulations 2022) are exempted from NET/SET requirement.

Additional eligibility conditions and category certificates must follow the official guidelines issued by HPPSC.
