The Foundation Programme is a core component of the undergraduate curriculum at Ahmedabad University and is undertaken by all first-year students.

The programme includes three interdisciplinary studio courses:

• Democracy and Justice

• Environment and Climate Change

• Water

These studios introduce students to university-level inquiry through interdisciplinary perspectives, experiential learning, and critical reflection.

Role Summary

Teaching Assistants will:

• Work closely with faculty coordinators

• Support lectures, discussions, and studio activities

• Facilitate collaborative learning and interdisciplinary engagement

• Help students translate theoretical ideas into practical applications

Job Position 2

Teaching Assistant – First Year Interdisciplinary Seminar (FYIS)

Level: Full-Time Contractual Position

Duration: Tentatively from 16 February 2026 to 8 May 2026

About the Programme

The First Year Interdisciplinary Seminar (FYIS) focuses on developing students’ critical thinking, reading, and writing skills.

Students engage with texts and ideas from various disciplines through:

• Close reading

• Structured discussions

• Writing workshops

• Peer review sessions

• Reflective assignments

Role Summary

Teaching Assistants will:

• Assist faculty members in seminar sessions and discussions

• Guide students in critical reading and writing

• Provide feedback on assignments and drafts

• Support small-group discussions and learning activities

Qualifications

Candidates with any of the following qualifications may apply:

• BA / BCom / BBA / BSc

• MA / MCom / MBA / MSc

• Bachelors or Masters in Architecture / Planning / Geography

• Any other Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
